Like grains of petrified wood, but actually a unique section of Wonderstone. This type of banded Rhyolite is found in central Nevada. This piece has a beautiful red mahogany complexion.
Highlighting the natural direction of the bands, I chose this shape because it gives the whole medallion a sense of movement.
A groove was carefully notched into the side. Sterling silver wire frames the medallion and forms a large loop for the chain.
